Vogue Hommes Japan & China Magazine photoshoots

I was privileged again to work the last couple of days on the VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN editorial photoshoot to be released on September 2011.
The Shoot was led by the Creative Director Nicola Formichetti and was shot by my very good friend Branislav Jankic.
I was brought to the set again as an acting coach. It is always a challenge to work with a new cast of talent before a photoshoot. Time is never the essence. In a perfect setting it would be optimal if I had 2-3 hours to work with the models. However, in reality, I have 45 minutes at the most. Nicola Formichetti & David R. Duenias

All that is not revealed

All that is not revealed
Will change in the drift of time,
For nothing is stuck in the wheel of time,
I wish to be like the wind.
I wish to be like water.
To flow, to take shape, to change with change.
I am in the midst of life. Am I the observer?
Where are my dualities? Is there any reason.
No judgment, no description. Only observation.
That is to go back to divinity. Or is it forward?
Whether I am here or there, now or then I wish to exist.
To be free from system. To be free from law, to be free from the shackles of fear and ignorance.
Not to be bound to images created by man. Images that were summoned by his fears.
I am a constant creator. I create what I wish. But let it be Love. Let it be only Love.
Let it be Pure as the glace of a baby’s eyes.
Let it be bound by none. And yet present as the universe.

Going Back to Nature

When we are surrounded by people we create our self image as a reaction from anything that surrounds us. That way our perception of the world is conceived only through interaction.
As in the city for instance, this constant comparison that is done automatically and unconsciously has a great part om the establishment of how we perceive ourselves, of our actions and our thought process.
Going back to Nature, embracing the need of aloofness for some time is very crucial for bringing us back to “balance” / “proportions”.
If I am 52 years old but I feel much younger as If I am 35 years old, the fact that on my day-to-day life I am constantly “reminded” of my “old” age I therefore reminded of a fiction’s self-image of what is perceived as 52.
However, when I am alone, and especially in Nature where there is no comparison whatsoever, I am still the same kid as if 45 years never passed.
Going back to Nature revives the child in us – that is the spirit. If the “Child” dies or slumbers cause we had forgotten him by constantly dealing with comparison, then the spirit “dies” – forgotten.
People who had never forgotten Nature and knew to be alone for some time, were in the path of fully realizing their spirit potential. The spirit was constantly nourished and not forgotten. They continued to evolve,  they re-created Evolution with their passion.

My Quest – Letter to Mother

Hi mother,

As a followup to our conversation on the phone on Monday….

I have been thinking a lot lately and as you might sense i am on the verge of a change. i feel it. like a birth there is the inevitable pain that evoke while in that remarkable journey. but as you ask any mother about birth experience, they all say there is nothing like it. you better know….:)
there are a lot of changes . I feel it in me. in my whole essence. Energy that reflects my spirit, and my body. I remember you asking me if i am still keen about acting.

Notes on Acting

Personalization / Asking questions:

In life we constantly asking questions to ourselves. Trying to resolve endless numerous issues from tiny little matters to big dramatic ones. The larger they are the more energy we are investing in trying to resolve them.
So does the actor need to do in preparation for the scene. “Ask” all these questions as the character does. That ads this level of realism to the scene. What the character is trying to resolve? Maybe he forgot to turn off the gas at home. “Did he turn off all the lights at home” did he take all the papers he needs to work? Etc… etc… etc. that will bring the leverage and momentum for any action propelled in the scene.
Second. Ad to that the resolution of the actor. What I, David, want to resolve with myself this time I am going up on stage.
The more questions I ask the better. Whether I have answers for them does not matter. The more information I have the more I can use my endless imagination.
